Feeling good in your skin is more than just beautiful, smooth skin. It also requires self-confidence to feel good in the skin you’re in. Skin conditions and skin problems such as dryness and redness can make you feel bad about your appearance. However, it is possible to make your skin look great using various techniques.

Good skin care should consist of a consistent skin care regimen and be followed on a regular basis for best results. You will also need to use products that are right for your skin type. You can actually do more harm than good if you use a product not meant for your skin type.

Your diet affects the way your skin looks, depending on the types of nutrients and foods you consume. A diet rich in antioxidants, such as berries will help remove toxins from the body and repair skin cells. Eating fresh, raw vegetables and fruits will also make your complexion glow and look healthy. Be sure to also eat foods such as nuts, olive oil and avocado for essential fatty acids that soften your skin.

When it comes to your shower routine, a body scrub or exfoliator should be used every other week. Your body gel should have moisturizing ingredients derived from natural sources, such as shea butter, cocoa butter or other butters. These will lock in moisture, even after stepping out of the shower.

After the shower, be sure to lock in all that great moisture through a body butter, body oil or body cream. Do not use artificial ingredients such as petroleum that can actually dry out your skin. Stick to all natural ingredients and 100% natural oils such as sweet almond and coconut oil.

Although massages are great at relieving tension in the body and helping you relax, they also serve other purposes. They can reduce skin redness and puffiness and stimulate the nerves to help regenerate new skin cells and even out skin tone. It can also boost your self-confidence to feel great in your skin. Flare-ups due to rosacia and eczema are less prone to flare-ups when massage is coupled with natural oils.

Through these steps you will learn to love the skin you were born with and appreciate it for all that it does for your body on a daily basis. When you feel confident about yourself, it will be reflected through your skin.

Removing Acne Scars

Removing acne scars can be tricky. You need to be careful not to damage sensitive skin or over dry the skin as many over the counter products can do because of the chemicals, fragrance or colorings they use. The scar remover product should be powerful, gentle, and non-comdegenic – meaning it won’t clog your pores. It should also aid in scar tissue healing — while getting rid of acne scars. A truly effective scar fading treatment should work on all types of acne scars including: Ice pick scars, Atropic scars, and Hypertrophic scars.

The best way to fade scars is to use a combination of types of treatments including home mico-dermabrasion or dermabrasion for scar fading and tissue healing and a skin lightener or eraser for removing those red hyperpigmentation spots. The amount of success you can achieve from a scar removal product will vary from person to person depending on the person’s skin type and how well they respond to treatment. But keep in mind that before seeking any facial scar treatment or any treatment for removing scars, it’s important that your skin is clear and your acne breakouts are under control.

How To Fade Scars – Home Dermabrasion for Scars

Home microdermabrasion or dermabrasion is one of the most effective ways for scar fading and healing scar tissue. Microdermabrasion is done by rubbing a slightly abrasive cream or lotion that helps to exfoliate away the top layers of the skin. This method is more effective in fading very severe acne scars. A dermabrasion treatment leave your skin feeling smooth, soft, clean and shiny – while preparing to absorb the skin eraser/lightener more deeply. It’s great for any type of skin, especially if you’re over 40 years of age.

Removing Acne Scars – Skin Lightner/Fader

Another effective way to fade scars is to use a skin eraser. This erase should contain this scar remover/fader should contain powerful plant based ingredients, but yet must be gentle to the skin because you want aid in scar tissue healing and not further irritate scar or damage the skin. A good skin eraser can also encourage collagen production while healing scar tissue and fading discoloration.

Both scar removal methods listed above should be used together for optimum results. They can be used on all skin types and colors and will not only help in removing acne scar, but will unclog pores and give you clearer more radiant skin. These two steps are also great for dull, dry, and wrinkled skin. After just the first try you’ll be amazed at how wonderful your skin will feel. I’m addicted to these two important steps and once you try – you will too. For more information visit the Best Treatment for Acne Scars . Best Treatment For Adult Acne

It’s just not fair! You finally got over those awkward adolescent years and thought you were done with the breakouts – only to find you now suffer from wrinkles and adult acne. Well, you’re not alone.

Over 50% adult women suffer from acne and over 25% of all males experience adult male acne. And, to make matters worse, up to 1/3 of those adults also experience body acne. So, it’s easy to see why there are so many adult acne home remedies and adult acne treatments on the market.

Research from the International Journal of Cosmetic Science shows that is there a rise in adult acne and the acne symptoms lasts longer which means the required treatment for adult acne lasts well into the late adulthood – mid forties.

Understandably, this is very distressful and embarrassing for us middle aged adults who now have to deal with acne AND wrinkles too! If you’re an adult and suffering from acne, you must make sure your acne treatment won’t aggravate or dry out aging skin that is starting to show signs of lines, wrinkles, and age spots.

Adult Acne Causes

While nobody is really sure of the exact reasons for adult onset acne many researchers are convinced that it has to do with a hormone imbalance…namely androgen. This main hormone is present in both men and women and can cause skin eruptions.

When our hormones become unbalanced and there is excess androgen, a surplus of oil is created which causes bacteria to grow – leading to pimples and breakouts. Some women have found that birth control is an effective hormonal acne treatment because it lowers the hormone androgen.

Other possible adult acne causes include:
– Diet
- Stress
- Hereditary/congested toxic liver

Herbal Treatment for Adult Acne

There are many of adult acne products that claim to be “adult acne cures”, but in my experience of evaluating and researching acne, there really isn’t a Cure. But there is a simple herbal Adult Acne treatment that is gentle, and heals the acne, and is not just topically, but works from the inside too. Which is why I suspect it’s more effective than just your typical “dry -out-the-skin” product.

I realized that when acne suffers use a combination gentle wash and topical treatment which contains a mild 2% salicylic acid (which is great for wrinkles too!!) along with Medowsweet and Spirae Ulmaria Extract it helps reduce infection, breakouts, redness, and heals the skin.

Combine this topical wash and gel with a daily dose of specific Chinese herbs like Neem, Chaste Tree, Dandelion, Milk Thistle, Honeysuckle…. The acne sufferers got better and faster results. And they didn’t damage already sensitive aging skin. Learn more about adult acne treatments and Chinese herbs here.

The Way To Not Choose Your Anti Aging Skin Care Products

Anti aging products and skin care products is a massive industry. Millions or even billions of dollars are spent every year by women who are looking for anti aging skin care treatments that will keep their skin healthy and looking younger. And there are plenty of big companies in the anti aging and cosmetics industry just waiting to take advantage.

But sadly many of the anti aging skin care products that you buy just don’t really do very much. Unfortunately the cosmetics and skin care and anti aging industries are unregulated in the US and the companies can put just about anything they want in their products without proving that they work, and even without showing that the ingredients are safe for people to use.

So as well as the fact that many skin care products don’t work they can contain dangerous ingredients.

But even so there are massive numbers of skin care and anti aging products sold and advertised for their ability to make your skin look younger and you look great.

So how do you navigate through all the hype and choose a range of anti aging skin care treatments that actually work, and don’t contain dangerous ingredients?

This is how not to choose your anti aging products.

1. Don’t buy any skin care products that include fragrances in them. Now of course everyone likes to smell good, and the cosmetics companies pander to that, by adding fragrances to their products. Apply the cream and smell good and look young all at the same time.

Unfortunately there’s 2 problems here. First the skin care cream or other anti-aging cream that you’ve bought probably won’t do much to make you look younger.

Secondly, fragrances are not good chemicals to put on your skin. Because that’s what they are, chemicals that smell good, and many of them aren’t that good for you. It’s the same with perfumes, for example, but if you apply a perfume it’s only a small squirt on one spot, it’s not massaged all over your face where it disappears, into your blood. So just use a perfume instead.

2. Don’t buy skin care creams that have collagen in them. Now this at first glance appears counterintuitive doesn’t it? Everyone knows that collagen, or the breakdown of collagen in your skin, leads to sagging and wrinkling of the skin so putting more collagen on must be good.

Not necessarily. Yes it’s good to replenish the collagen, however collagen molecules are quite large and don’t really enter the skin. So rubbing it on might make you feel good, but doesn’t really add to the levels of collagen in your skin.

The best way to improve the collagen levels in your skin is to stimulate the body to produce more collagen itself.

So why is that collagen in the bottle, and why is that big name celebrity on TV telling you how much younger they look? Because the anti aging companies know that people buy the products if they have collagen in them, so they sell lots of bottles.

So it may not do much, and it may have dangerous chemicals in it like fragrances, but it still sells like hot cakes.

That’s how these companies make so much money.

But there is a problem. It costs megabucks to pay that celebrity to go on TV and tell you how great the products are, and those fancy bottles cost a lot.

So even though that anti aging treatment doesn’t do much, other than make you smell better, it costs a bomb. And people assume if it costs that much it has to work.

There’s 2 things to avoid when looking for a good anti aging skin care treatment. There’s more, but that’s for another time, or visit my website.

So the obvious conclusion is that you should give up using anti aging creams and other skin care products because they don’t work. But no don’t give up. There are some excellent anti aging products that work just fine and are moderately priced. Made from ingredients that are known to be effective and known to be safe.

But they aren’t made by the big name brands but by small niche companies that you’ve probably never heard of. They don’t spend on TV advertising which is why the products are moderately priced and why you’ve never heard of them.

But there’s no need to despair. I’ve told you about some of the things you need to avoid when buying anti-aging skin care products. And that there are excellent alternatives. Now it’s up to you. Find out more about natural skin care products on my website.

The Growing Popularity of Resveratrol And What It Could Mean To You

Resveratrol is now being compared to the “fountain of youth” because of its anti aging benefits. Packed full of powerful antioxidants, resveratrol has now been given the attention it so deserves, although it has been around for centuries.

How was Resveratrol discovered? Studies were coming in from the people of France, China and Japan that their reports showed far less cardiovascular diseases compared to other parts of the world. Their secret? A large quantity of the red grape, cranberries, blueberries, mulberries and red wine in their diets.

Now we know that Resveratrol is a very potent antioxidant packed full of health benefits and helps in the prevention of many diseases like Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Huntington’s disease, cancer and diabetes to name a few.

Amazing studies show proof that although resveratrol has been performed in mice only, humans are experiencing the same health benefits and without any reports of side effects.

Of course, talk to your doctor before starting resveratrol especially if you are on blood thinning medications.

Women will love the anti aging benefits of resveratrol because every woman desires to look younger than she is. It contains powerful antioxidants for younger, healthier looking skin.

It can actually control aging of the skin cells and make wrinkles and age marks disappear! Resveratrol is also great for weight loss because the metabolism and energy is increased substantially.

Renowned Dermatologist, Dr. Nicholas Perricone says, “Antioxidants can impede and even repair the damage to skin cells that come with aging, and soft, radiant and younger-looking skin is the gratifying result.”

We all know that red wine has antioxidants but there’s a better way to get your daily dosage. You can take resveratrol as a supplement in pill form which is better than drinking your way to health. In fact it is known that a daily dose of resveratrol is equal to the antioxidant benefits of 1,000 bottles of red wine!

Anti aging is an interesting subject. It is one of the most popular tops in the area of skin care. People all over adopt new scientific findings conducted by scientist and researchers around the world as promising new ways to retard the aging process of the body. Looking and felling younger is something we all want.

No one wants to grow old before their time. However, as we age, the natural process of nature seems to wreak havoc on the way we look and feel. As we age, our skin and body starts showing signs of wrinkles, graying of the hair and aches and pains or joint stiffness. Thus, the science slowing down the aging process is about readjusting our lifestyles and adopting an ongoing system to help us stay younger.

Aside from helping you look and feel younger, anti aging is also about slowing down the process of aging on the whole body and maker it stronger against certain types of diseases. Though much scientific research has been released from the medical community, some people still have a difficult time recognizing the symptoms of growing older and are unsure of when to subscribe to anti aging products.

Here’s a good list to help you start rethinking your strategy: If you are going bald, getting more wrinkles on your face an neck, having a difficult time remembering things, or are experiencing sight and hearing loss, you should consider adopting an anti aging philosophy or a real way to slow the aging experience down.

Note: we are not talking about adding additional measures if you are on an existing wrinkle reduction program, we are talking from the stand-point of having never started altogether. The process of retarding the process of aging starts long before your start seeing an increase of wrinkles. Those who are serious usually start much earlier in life even when they are in their young 20’s.

Applying the principles of anti aging skin care doesn’t mean subscribing to a medical procedure or the adoption of a special approach, but in adopting a lifestyle of eating and drinking the right foods and juices that promote health. This can be accompanied by avoiding stress, drinking plenty of water, properly exercising and of course testing a few of the anti aging skin care products that are on the market.

When signs of aging start creeping in, you should always feel free to experiment with various cosmetic products that help to reduce wrinkles and promote healthy skin. These additional measures help immensely over time. Some give you immediate results such as night creams that draw in wrinkles while others produce great results after continued use.

No one can tell you what age reducing product to use. You have to experiment a little by doing some research on the Internet into the different products available. Only a trail use of a specific product will give you the confidence of finding the right kind of anti aging skin care cream.
